SUNSpACe Farmers Training

Kantipur Engineering College, Dhapakhel, Lalitpur; and Acme Engineering College, Sitapaila, Kathmandu has jointly organized SUNSpACe farmers training in Nepal in two phases. The training was organized at Kantipur Engineering College and Acme Engineering College. The first phase was conducted on December 8-12, 2021 in which trainers to train smart farmers were developed. In these five days training 37 smart farmers were developed. The training covered presentations of experts on Smart Farming, Digital Agriculture, Standardization and Business Model by the experts from the University of Lumiere, Lyon 2 France; University of the West of Scotland, UK; Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary; Chiang Mai University, Thailand; KhonKaen University, Thailand; Royal University of Bhutan, Bhutan and from Nepal. The training was hybrid type both online and physical. The farmers were also taught to install smart farming devices in their farms, to maintain and manage them as well. During the training, the farmers were also taken to Vegetable Crop Development Center, Khumaltar and National Horticulture Center, Kirtipur to learn about the technology used in the farms. After the five days of physical training, farmers assessed online learning materials as well.

The second phase of training was organized on May 2-6, 2022 jointly at Kantipur Engineering College and Acme Engineering College. Thirtysix farmers were trained in this phase. In this training the experts from the SUNSpACe consortium trained the farmers with the similar content of phase one. After the completion of training the participants were provided with certificates.
