Brief DescriptionMr. Paudel completed his MSc. In Renewable Energy Engineering in 2019 and Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University (TU) in 2016. He has been working as a faculty member in Kantipur Engineering College since March 2017. Since then, Mr. Paudel has been delivering lectures, organizing closed sessions and conducting laboratories of different subjects of Electrical Engineering in KEC. Besides, he has been performing a leading role in some of our international projects and linkages.

Brief DescriptionEr. Ravi Chandra Koirala, a native of Pokhara, is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering.

Prior to joining Kantipur Engineering College he has worked as Community/Academic Lead at Microsoft MDP Nepal from June 2009 to January 2011. While there he was responsible for all the Community and Academic activities run by Microsoft in Nepal. His major responsibility was to lead the Microsoft Student Partners, MSP Program.  He was involved in the administration of Brain Works Learning Solution Center Pvt. Ltd., the then Microsoft Gold Certified Partner for Learning Solution as the Head of Department. He played a leading role in creating Technological awareness among the ICT students and to organize several high-end Trainings on Microsoft Product and Technologies for corporate clients, colleges and Universities. Brief DescriptionRamesh is an associate professor at Southampton Solent University. He is a Chartered Construction Manager and member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), and the Institution of Engineering Designers (MIED), and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

He obtained his civil engineering degree in 1992 from the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, Nepal; his Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering and Management in 1996 from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; and his PhD from the University of Teesside, UK in 2002.

Ramesh received further awards for his achievement during his degree; a DAAD (German) scholarship to study for his master’s degree and the Overseas Research Student Award by the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of the Universities of the United Kingdom for his PhD. As a postdoctoral researcher, he was awarded the CRUCIBLE fellowship in 2004 by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA).

Ramesh is a winner of the Excellent Academic Support Award 2016 at Solent University’s STAR (Student Teaching and Recognition) Awards, which are nominated and voted for by the University’s students and staff.

He has worked in the industry in design engineer, hydropower engineer, and civil engineer consultant roles, carrying out feasibility studies of roads and hydropower projects, design of hill roads and building projects in Nepal. He worked as planning engineer in Thailand on bridge and expressway projects.

Ramesh began his academic career at the University of Teesside working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Construction Innovation and Research (CCIR), completing the EPSRC-ROPA project ‘Development of innovative managerial control system (IMCS): An application in the Precast Concrete Products Industry’, and supporting the DTI funded project ‘Enterprise simulation for precast concrete operations’.

He also worked on the B2B Manufacturing Centre-1.8M ERDF funded collaborative project with Warwick Manufacturing Centre, Warwick University and University of Teesside as a construction specialist providing specialist-support on IT and business process improvement projects for SME companies.

Brief DescriptionProfessor Hongnian Yu has held academic positions at the Universities of Sussex, Liverpool John Moor, Exeter, Bradford, Staffordshire and Bournemouth in the UK. He is currently Professor in Computing at Bournemouth University. He has extensive research experience in mobile computing, modelling, scheduling, planning, and simulations of large discrete event dynamic systems with applications to manufacturing systems, supply chains, transportation networks, computer networks and RFID applications, modelling and control of robots and mechatronics, and neural networks. He has graduated over 20 PhD/MPhil and MRes research students, is supervising 8 PhD students, and has examined over 20 PhD/MPhil students’ theses as both internal and external examiner. He has published over 200 journal and conference research papers. He has held several research grants from the UK EPSRC, the Royal Society, and the EU, AWM, as well as from industry. Prof Yu was awarded the F.C. William Premium for his paper on adaptive and robust control of robot manipulators by the IEE Council.

Brief DescriptionProfessor Keshav Dahal joined the University of the West Scotland in 2013 as a research lead of the Artificial Intelligence, Visual Communication and Networks (AVCN) research centre. Prior to this he was with the University of Bradford (2002-2013) and the University of Strathclyde (1996-2002). His research interests lie in the areas of Computational intelligence, Machine learning, Big data mining, Scheduling/Optimisation, Trust/security modelling in cloud and distributed systems, and diagnosis/remote healthcare systems. His research paper on ‘reputation/trust modelling’ won the Best Paper award at an IEEE Conference; other two papers on “multiobjective and hybrid evolutionary/OR techniques for industrial optimisation and scheduling problems” were nominated for the best paper awards in two EvoCOP conferences. Prof. Dahal has an extensive experience in terms of research supervision and management of funded projects. He has been principal/co-investigator of 15 EU/UK/Industry funded projects worth over £4 million in last ten years. Currently, he is coordinating a consortium of 20 partners for EU Erasmus Mundus Action 2 ‘SmartLink’ project (2014-2018), which focuses on the applications of smart technologies based on AI and decision support techniques to a wide range of application domains. He is also a co-investigator of the recently awarded EU H2020-ICT-2014-2 “SELFNET – Framework for Self-organized network management in virtualized and software defended networks” project (2015-2018). He has successfully supervised the completions of 4 Post-Doctoral and 13 PhD studies. Prof. Dahal has published over 100 peer-reviewed journals/conferences papers and 3 edited books, and has sat on organising/programme committees of over 50 reputed international conferences; including the general chair of the IEEE SKIMA 2015. He is a senior member of the IEEE and fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Dr. Keshar Prasain completed his master’s degree in Chemistry from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2001. Dr. Prasain then joined Kantipur Engineering College as a Lecturer from June 25, 2001 and then was assigned the responsibility of Deputy Head of Science and Humanities in May 21, 2002. In September 17, 2006 He was promoted to Senior Lecturer.  In 2007, Dr. Prasain got an opportunity to pursue his PhD degree in Kansas State University, USA and graduated in 2013. From October 2013 Dr. Prasain has rejoined KEC in the capacity of Vice Principal of the college.
