Geology Field Visit 2079

Department of Civil Kantipur Engineering College, Department of Civil Engineering has organized Engineering Geology I Field Visit at Malekhu, Dhading on 6,7 and 8th of Jestha 2079 for 94 students of Civil Engineering II/I (2077 batch). The Field visit was organized by a team of 7 members including Er. NimnMaharjan, Coordinator; Dr. SurendraBahadurTamrakar; Er. KritiDhungana; Mr. PramodSimkhada; Mr. SwostikAdhikari, Mr. UpendraBaral and Mr. Anil Maharjan. The field visit assisted the students to learn and explore various geological terms, geological formation and features of Nepal with actual on-site geological conditions.

Ninety-four Students of the college were taken to Malekhu, Dhading for two days field visit around 75 km from KEC, Dhapakhel. Students of BCE II/I section A were taken on field visit on Friday, 6th of Jestha and returned on 7th of Jestha, Saturday. Similarly, Students of BCE II/I section B were taken on 7th of Jestha, Saturday and returned on 8th of Jestha, Sunday. Classification and Identification of Different Types of Rocks and their Properties, Different Geological Features and Structures, River Morphology and Use and Handling of Brunton Compass was explained and shown to the students during this site visit. Viva was held in the field to assess students for their examination marking.
